Criminally Awesome Song of the Day: Take A Heart by The Sorrows
I had forgotten about this gem by The Sorrows after falling in love with it on Nuggets II. But this live video from German television back in 1966? It kinda rocks...a lot!

Criminally Unknown Band of the Day: The Phenomenal Handclap Band
How to describe The Phenomenal Handclap Band? damned if I know. I'll leave it to this quote from NPR's All Songs Considered:
Check out the slightly disturbing video for Baby...
...and the considerably more light-hearted 15 to 20. Let me know what you think!
The band is equal parts psychedelia, proto-disco, heavy rock ‘n’ roll, ‘60s soul and hip-hop – what NPR Music calls “a perfect mix of everything from the past 40 years of popular music.
...and the considerably more light-hearted 15 to 20. Let me know what you think!

Criminally Unappreciated Band of the Day: Ash
After 19 years together and eight million records sold worldwide, Ash is a relatively unknown act in the States. Check out Burn Baby Burn and tell me how they aren't huge here.

Here's something you don't see every day: Sen. Mike Lee (R - Asshat) Calls Child Labor Laws Unconstitutional
Gotta hand it to this guy. Not a lot of elected officials have the cojones to make a Constitutional argument against child labor laws. He gets extra points for terming the practice "barbaric" in the same speech. So let me get this straight...because an employer using child labor may not be conducting business over state lines, Congress has no Constitutional standing to declare child labor illegal? I think I need a drink.
